Demi Lovato has been our key inspiration through ideas of:
- Fashion
- Genre
- Being a role model
- Chart success
It is important for GiGi to have a clear image which needs to be clearly established in her debut single so audiences are able to relate to her and understand who she is from the beginning of her career. In relation to Richard Dyer's 'Star' Theory we want to clearly establish GiGi as an individual before the "star transformation process turns [her] into a construct." Another element of Dyer's 'Star Theory that we have used with GiGi is the how she represents shared cultural values/attitudes and promotes a certain ideology- female empowerment.
