Construction Post 3: Week 3 production

In production week three our aims were to continue working on our music video, continue work on the website (such as adding the finer details) and to take the extra promo shots and began photo-shopping them.

Music Video

This week we focused on completing as much of the video as possible. We made a lot of headway and it is great to see our video taking shape! We have added the effect of cross dissolves on the last repeated lines of the song "Sit still, look pretty" and we like how the different coloured backgrounds blend into each other.

This is an image of what our timeline looked like at the end of construction week three:

At the end of the week our teachers suggested that we used more inter-cutting between the different set-ups so we didn't have 'blocks' of shots in each in different narrative set-up. More teacher feedback can be seen below:

We incorporated the idea of blending the different coloured backgrounds together through the use of the cross dissolve tool:

Below are examples of what the cross dissolve looks like before grading:

Website

We did lots of really good work on the website this week and it is beginning to take shape. We began photo-shopping the GiGi logo onto merchandise such as the i-Pad cover that can be seen on the right. I also enjoyed creating product descriptions and adding returns and shipping information to make our products look real.

We worked on creating continuity between the different pages to create a consistent 'look' and branding for the website. We also created pages such as the different tour locations to add more sources of revenue and the terms and conditions to make the website look genuine and conventional.

Promo Shots

We re-took the front panel promo shots on Wednesday and incorporated the target audience feedback of not having glitter on my face.

Overall production week three has been very successful and we are in a very good place in all three tasks.
